JOB ADVERT MPower Ventures, a pan-African for-profit start-up in the energy access area (www.mpower.africa), is looking for an independent and entrepreneurial Finance Director in Cameroon. This is an exciting opportunity in a fascinating and rapidly growing field and in a start-up environment. The main tasks of the Finance Director are summarized below: Accounting Bookkeeping Monthly reporting Regulatory filings and compliance Consumer finance Develop structures and partnerships for consumer financing Explore options for payroll deductions Lead discussions with financial institutions Softwar Oversight software implementation Stock & logistics Inventory and stock reporting Logistics & transport coordination Logistics support (transport within Windhoek for local & int. deliveries) The required skills and experience are summarized below: A MSc or MA in Business Administration, Accounting, Management, Economics, Finance or any relevant field is desired In possession of Diplôme de comptabilité et de gestion or equivalent At least 4-5 years of experience in a leading role related to finance and accounting in a mid-sized company Team player and eager to learn new tools and roll-up sleeves to get the job done Entrepreneurial and creative mindset with attention to detail Experience in financial services and consumer finance a plus Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages is a plus The details of the position are to be discussed on a case-by-case basis. The position is based in Yaoundé and available immediately.
