JOB ANNOUNCEMENT SIX (6) VAS FIELD ASSISTANTS (GIVEWELL PROJECT) Yaoundé-Cameroon ABOUT HELEN KELLER INTL Helen Keller International is an international non-profit organization, present in Cameroon since 1992, whose mission is to save the sight and lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged populations. In Cameroon, Under-five mortality remains high with 71 deaths per 100 births in 2019. Micronutrients deficiency is a public health concern with a high prevalence of certain micronutrients such as vitamin A, which affects about 35% of children under five years of age. Among the strategies to combat mortality and morbidity of children under five is vitamin A supplementation (VAS) through mass distribution campaigns and routine activities within health facilities. In order to implement the GIVEWELL- Funded Vitamin A Supplementation project, Helen Keller International is providing financial and technical support to the government of Cameroon during Vitamin A supplementation campaigns during the Mother and Child Health and Nutrition Action Week (SASNIM and JNV) since 2021 in the Centre, Littoral, East, West, Adamawa and South regions. To strengthen the support of the field teams, Helen Keller International - Cameroon is calling for applications for the recruitment of six (06) "VAS Field Assistants" based respectively in: Adamawa, East, Central, South, West and Littoral regions. General objective The objective of this project is to improve the coverage of VAS in children aged 6-59 months during the SASNIM/JNV in the regions concerned.
