IDENTIFICATION 1 Job Title: Gender and protection officer. Reports to: Project Manager (Hierarchical supervisor) Supervision of: N/A Duty station Buea and Fundong Type of contract CDD Duration of employment contract: Until 31/12/2021 (Buea) and 30/06/2021 (Fundong) Main objective and tasks Act as focal point for the identification and referral of Extremely Vulnerable Individuals and People with Specific Protection Needs for adequate assistance according to INTERSOS pre-defined criteria. Ensure the most vulnerable beneficiaries are prioritized during the service at the distribution point and during the pre-distribution operations. Identify and manage individual protection cases, including maintaining strict protocols for confidentiality and consent. Refer clients to appropriate services and when necessary accompany them to different service providers. Contribute to the establishment/maintenance of a referral pathway, respectful of the confidentiality principle and international SOPs. Carry out all tasks respecting key protection principles, including but not limited to do no harm, non-discrimination, confidentiality, accountability, and need-to-know principles. assess GBV needs and gaps of target populations in current and prospective areas of operations, periodically update the protection situation analysis and inform the project Manager. Support the collection of information/data about vulnerability, protection needs and concerns of the targeted population. Update case files on individual developments, following international SOPs and ensuring beneficiaries' data are protected. Conduct follow-up monitoring visits to ensure that needs have been met in an appropriate manner and beneficiary could provide feedback on the assistance received.
